snow is what makes winter okay

sunday was another unexpectedly sunny day, so new friend who doesn't have a nickname yet (so much responsibility! naming another human!) and her dog and i high-tailed it to the mountains again to play in the SNOW. snow!

we went walking here a month or more ago and the water in this little lake was just frozen in sheets by the edges, but this time it was frozen almost solid, and the dog, after much testing and barking, got all four paws on it.

the woods were very beautiful, the air crisp and cold; the hike made me feel a bit better about the world.

it was 4.30 or so by the time we left, so it was almost dark, and we got a beautiful view of the sunset over vancouver, and vancouver island in the distance. i took this photo from the top of a humungous pile of snow in the carpark - i'm in the king of the castle!

i put on women's clothing and hang around in bars?

australian shepherd - i'd never heard of such a thing. mid-sized shaggy beast with a docked tail. she leaps with both hind legs like a sheep.

i had never heard of them until b and i watched on TV the famous Crofts (or crufts) dog show thingy when we were in England last (we were huddled in bed, trying to get warm).

an australian shepherd won - i felt most unpatriotic because here we were, besting the world yet again and i didn't know such a thing existed

god bless america

don't think i've ever seen one here

ps crufts (or crofts) are in trouble because their breeding standards are so off, dogs are bred that can't breathe etc - they are being forced to change them

i think they are

oh, i feel less stupid about not knowing them, then. maybe they don't exist in australia so much?

did you know pugs are bred to be too small about the hips to actually give birth? 90% of them are delivered by C-section. isn't that weird?

actually i classify all my videos as "auto and vehicles" cos it's top of the list of choices and i don't care, so i'm suprised it's not offering you house and car reno vids.

glad to satisfy yr curiousity! do let me know if you ahve any other requests.
