happy anniversary

things i could do to celebrate having been in canada for a year:
  • go the railway club with a bunch of friends
  • ride out to jericho beach and have a swim
  • catch a ferry somewhere
  • climb a (small) mountain and admire the view
  • go to the aquarium
  • pop some bubbly and eat cake
  • catch me some raccoons!

what i will actually do:
  • prepare for my defence (it's tomorrow)
  • play scrabble on crackbook
  • clean up cat shit

le sigh.

GOOD LUCKKKK!!!

Oh, how about I pop bubbly and eat cake for you?

... hang on, you will do that tomorrow anyway, after your defense. I expect a good drunk story. xo vta

why're you cleaning up cat shit?

your defence will be fine. i'll get drunk tonight in preparation for you if you'd like.

thanks, jt! you're very inspiring. (i don't know your fingers and toes ref though - can you explain or does it need voices?)

vta - you do that! there will be limited drunkeness, cos limited friends (and those who are coming are mostly straight-edge or light-weights). i could make up a story. would that do?

itchy - cos i'm cat-sitting. sigh. and when smudge is upset she "expresses herself scatilogically", as her owner put it. sigh.

you may drink for me. ta.

ah, folgrot, i remember when you first pressed a glass of bubbly into my hand. . . what was i, 12? 13? never looked back. . .

You can't comment on your mother's penchant for bubbly so publicly!! Wonder where we get our liking for alcohol from - certainly not our parents.
Good god - how can I say that when we've been busy for months on our family ancestors and I know where we get it from!!!!
"Fingers and toes, kimmie" is one of Kath Day-Knight's favourite sayings when she wants Kim to cross her fingers for good luck. You have been out of the country for too long! Kath & Kim is being re-written for American audiences so those sort of sayings will be out the window!!
