and if you're wondering why i only have photos from home at pres, here's what i've read over the last four days:

driest place I've been to except for Ladakh

the spot where jt took the photo of the camp is probably the last resting place of my reading glasses - left behind to turn to rock like everything else there

look forward to a photo of yr post-box room

sorry to hear about reading glasses. at least they will become one with the landscape . . . or something. eco-critique it!

will post photos of PO box once i get the postcards and photos up. little by little. i have organised my desk and bookshelf and that's nice.

yes, it is as dry as it looks. very beautiful in a very stark, harsh sort of way. However, lots of birds at the campsite. We especially liked the Mulga parrots, very pretty. And a type of Martin, which type I can't remember without looking up the reference book. And that was beacuse we were camped near a very dry creek bed. And I nearly stepped on a small greyish snake. Fascinating place. i would like to go back - and to Ladakh.

very sad about glasses! Tho... isn't glass made out of sand and/or rock to begin with?

so your glasses....they've completed their life cycle and gtg is right, - they'll be at peace with the landscape now.
